Iiyama 64 Series displays run Android 14. You install the PADS4 Viewer app on the display to show PADS4 presentations. This page explains how to set up the display, check the firmware, install the app, and set the app to start automatically.

  • A PADS4 Server that is set up and configured.
  • The Iiyama remote control.
  • A USB flash drive. You use it to install the app.
  • To update the firmware, format the drive with FAT32.

Open the Android menu

To open the Android menu, press Home on the remote control, and then press 1, 6, 6, 8.

Prepare the device

When you turn on the display for the first time, the Configuration Wizard starts automatically. If the wizard does not start, or if someone used the display before, reset the display first.

Reset the device

Reset the display to clear the storage and prevent software conflicts.
A factory reset removes all data and settings from the display.
  1. Open the Android menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Go to System Tools > Factory Reset, and then select Factory Reset.
  4. Press OK to confirm.
When the reset is complete, the Welcome screen appears. Continue with Complete the first-time setup.

Complete the first-time setup

  1. On the Welcome screen, select your language, and then select Start.
  2. On the Security Setting screen, make sure that SICP Network Port is turned on.
  3. On the Network Setting screen, select the network type, and then configure the network.
  4. On the Signage Display Settings screen, select Skip.
  5. On the Clone Media Files screen, select Skip.
  6. On the Setup Complete screen, select Finish.

Check the firmware version

PADS4 Viewer needs this firmware version to work fully: LU64M79-B11-18.
  1. Open the Android menu.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select About.
  4. Compare the firmware version with LU64M79-B11-18.
If the version is different, update the firmware.

Update the firmware

Contact Iiyama Support to get the correct firmware file.
Do not turn off the display during the update.
  1. Format a USB flash drive with FAT32.
  2. Download the firmware file from Iiyama Support, and extract it.
  3. Copy the extracted firmware file to the root folder of the USB flash drive.
  4. Insert the USB flash drive into the display.
  5. Turn on the display. The display shows this message: Do not power off the TV during the upgrade. Waiting...
  6. When the display asks you to, remove the USB flash drive.

Install PADS4 Viewer

Install the PADS4WebLauncher.apk file from a USB flash drive. You find the file on your PADS4 Server in http(s)://<server>/<domain>/apps. You can also download the latest version from GitHub.
  1. Copy PADS4WebLauncher.apk to a USB flash drive.
  2. Insert the USB flash drive into the display.
  3. Open the Android menu.
  4. Select Apps, and then open the File Manager app.
  5. Go to mnt > usb_storage, and then open PADS4WebLauncher.apk.
  6. Select Install, and then select Open.

Connect the Viewer to the PADS4 Server

The server location has this format: http(s)://<server>/<domain>. Replace <server> with the IP address or host name of your PADS4 Server. Replace <domain> with your PADS4 domain. The default domain is PADS4.
  1. Enter the PADS4 Server location.
  2. (Optional) Enter a name for the Viewer. If you leave the field empty, the PADS4 Server generates a name.
  3. Select Start.
  4. Set PADS4 IIyama Touch as the Home app, and then select Always.
The Viewer connects to the PADS4 Server.

Start the Viewer automatically

Set the app as the custom app of the display. The display then starts PADS4 Viewer automatically, and restarts it if it stops.
  1. Open PADS4 Viewer, and then select System Settings.
  2. Go to Signage Display > Custom App.
  3. Select Select App, select PADS4WebLauncher, and then select Save.
  4. Turn on Force Restart Custom App.
  5. Press Back three times to return to PADS4 Viewer.

Update PADS4 Viewer

PADS4 Viewer updates automatically when the PADS4 Server updates.
