This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on the Hikvision DS-D6032FN device.


1. First-Time Use

Before installation, ensure that the PADS4 Server is set up and configured properly.

The minimum PADS4 Server version required is PADS4 Foundation 2023.1.

1.1 Resetting the Device

If the device was previously used, perform a factory reset to clear storage and prevent software conflicts.

Open the home screen of the device.

1.2 Updating Firmware

Ensure the firmware is updated to at least V1.7.1 build 20230424 before installing PADS4.

Copy the update.zip firmware file to the root directory of a USB stick.

The device should detect the USB firmware update and prompt for installation.

2. Installing PADS4 Viewer

Follow the steps below to install and configure PADS4 Viewer on the Hikvision DS-D6032FN.


2.1 Installing PADS4 from USB Stick

The PADS4Hikvision.apk file is available on the PADS4 Server in:

C:\Program Files\PADS4\Foundation\Apps

Alternatively, download the latest version from here and place it in the PADS4 Server apps directory to ensure the correct version is installed.

Copy the PADS4Hikvision.apk file onto a USB stick.

Insert the USB stick into the Hikvision DS-D6032FN device.

Open the home screen of the device.

Open the FileBrowser app.

Select USB DISK from the list.

Click on PADS4Hikvision.apk.

When prompted with “Do you want to install this application?”, click Install.

Once installed, click Open to launch the PADS4 Hikvision app.


2.2 Connecting to PADS4 Server

PADS4 Server Address Format:

protocol://host:port/hostpath/
  • Protocol: http or https (depends on SSL certificate).
  • Host: DNS name or IP address of PADS4 Server.
  • Port: (Optional - specify only if using non-default ports).
  • Host Path: Configured in System Management (default: PADS4).

Enter the PADS4 Server Location.

Specify a Viewer Name (if left blank, PADS4 will generate one).

Press Start.

Grant permission to access photos, media, and files when prompted.

The PADS4 Viewer will be downloaded and installed.


2.3 Adjusting PADS4 Viewer Settings

  • Press and hold the left mouse button or touch the screen for 3 seconds to access Viewer Settings.

2.4 Updating PADS4 Viewer & PADS4 Hikvision App

The PADS4 Viewer & PADS4 Hikvision app will automatically update when the PADS4 Server is updated.


2.5 Accessing Android Menu

If you access the Android Menu while PADS4 is running, the device will reboot in 30 seconds (as the Viewer Monitor Service detects inactivity).

To prevent reboot, stop the PADS4 Hikvision app within 30 seconds.
