This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on Qbic TD-1050 PRO devices running Android.


Before You Start

Supported Qbic TD-1050 PRO Devices

The following Qbic TD-1050 PRO device is supported:

  • TD-1050 PRO (Android 7.1.1)

Ensure your PADS4 Server is installed and configured before proceeding.


Minimum Requirements

PADS4 Server Version: 2021.2 or later
Firmware Version: Kernel 3.0.101+ Build v1.1.0

Ensure your device firmware meets the minimum requirements before proceeding with installation.


First-Time Setup

When you turn on the Qbic TD-1050 PRO for the first time, a configuration wizard will start.

If the configuration wizard does not start, perform a factory reset before continuing.


Performing a Factory Reset

Step One

Open Settings → Backup & Reset.

Select Factory Data Reset.

Press Reset Tablet.

Step Four

Confirm by pressing Erase Everything.

Once completed, the device will restart and display the welcome screen.


Installing PADS4 Viewer

To install the PADS4 Viewer, access the Android menu on the device.

Step 1: Check Device Firmware

Open Settings.

Navigate to About Device.

Verify that the Build Number matches Kernel 3.0.101+ Build v1.1.0.

If the firmware is outdated, contact Qbic for firmware updates.


Step 2: Install PADS4Qbic from USB Stick

Download PADS4Qbic APK:

Step One

Copy PADS4Qbic.apk to a USB stick.

Step Two

Insert the USB stick into the Qbic TD-1050 PRO.

Open Android Settings → Player Settings.

Enable Switch to Native Android Mode.

Close Settings to access the Android Home Screen.

Open ApkInstaller → Press Install → Select USB Memory.

Select PADS4Qbic.apk and press Install.

Allow installation from Unknown Sources if prompted.

Do not open PADS4Qbic after installation.


Configuring the Qbic TD-1050 PRO for PADS4Qbic

Step 1: Set PADS4 as the Default App

Connecting to the PADS4 Server

Step 1: Enter PADS4 Server Details

Open PADS4Qbic and specify the Server Address.

(Optional) Specify a Viewer Name.

Press Start.

If Chrome is missing, it will be downloaded automatically.


Adjusting PADS4 Viewer Settings

To access settings, hold the left mouse button for 3 seconds.

You can also configure settings remotely using:
PADS4 CTRL Center
PADS4 Agent


Updating PADS4 Viewer & PADS4Qbic App

After installation, updates will be applied automatically when the PADS4 Server is updated.


Accessing the Android Menu

To access the Android menu while PADS4 is running:
Press Home Button + Volume Down in sequence.

To prevent a reboot, first open PADS4Qbic settings.
