This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on ProDVX APPC-Series (RK3288) devices running Android 8.1.

Before You Start

Supported ProDVX APPC-Series Devices

The following ProDVX APPC-Series (RK3288) devices are supported:
  • APPC-7XPL
  • APPC-7XPLN
  • APPC-10X
  • APPC-10XP
  • APPC-10XPL
  • APPC-10XPLN
  • APPC-10SLB (Requires 10X Firmware)
  • APPC-10SLBN
  • APPC-15XP
  • APPC-22X
  • APPC-22XP
  • APPC-24
  • APPC-27X
Note:
An Android 9 upgrade is available for most of these devices. Contact your reseller for availability.

Minimum PADS4 Requirements

Firmware updates can be requested from your ProDVX dealer.
Important:
By default, network settings are disabled on the device. Before installation, go to Android Settings and ensure Wi-Fi or Ethernet is enabled.
If the device was used before, perform a factory reset to clear storage and prevent software conflicts.

Step One

Open Android Settings.

Step Two

Navigate to System → Reset Options.

Step Three

Select Erase all data (Factory Reset).

Step Four

Click Reset Tablet and confirm by selecting Erase Everything.

Step Five

The device will restart automatically after the reset.

Installing PADS4 Viewer

Follow these steps to install PADS4 Viewer on your ProDVX APPC-Series device.

Step 1: Download and Transfer PADS4 Viewer APK

Download Locations: PADS4 Server Directory: 
C:\Program Files\PADS4\Clients\Apps

Download PADS4ProDVX APK Transfer to USB Stick:

Step One

Copy the PADS4ProDVX.apk file to a USB stick.

Step Two

Insert the USB stick into the ProDVX APPC-Series device.

Step 2: Install PADS4 Viewer APK

Step One

Open the APK Installer App on the device (Allow access to external storage if prompted).

Step Two

Select Install and browse the USB for PADS4ProDVX.apk.

Step Three

Click on the APK file to start installation.

Step Four

If prompted, enable Allow Install from Unknown Sources and then retry installation.

Step Five

Click Install, then Open when the installation is complete.

Configuring PADS4 Viewer

Step 1: Validate Date & Time Configuration

Incorrect date and time settings can cause certificate errors and connection issues.

Step One

Open PADS4ProDVX and go to System Settings.

Step Two

Navigate to Date & Time.

Step Three

Configure correct date & time, or enable Auto Sync Date & Time if supported.

Step Four

Return to the PADS4ProDVX Launcher.

Step 2: Connect to PADS4 Server

Format: 
<protocol>://<host>:<port>/<domain>/
Example: 
https://example.pads365.com/pads4

Step One

Open PADS4ProDVX and enter the PADS4 Server Address.

Step Two

(Optional) Enter a custom Viewer Name.

Step Three

Click Start to connect.

Step Four

If the Android System WebView is outdated, it will automatically update.

Step Five

Once updated, the PADS4 Viewer will restart. Press Start again.

Updating PADS4 Viewer

After installation, PADS4 Viewer will automatically update when the PADS4 Server is updated.

Troubleshooting

Issue: Video transition effects not working
Solution: Device hardware limitations Issue: Device fails to connect to the network
