This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on Qbic BXP-321 devices running Android.
Before You Start
Supported Qbic BXP-321 Devices
The following Qbic BXP-321 devices are supported:
- BXP-321 (Android OS)
Important: Ensure your PADS4 Server is installed and configured before proceeding.
Minimum Requirements
PADS4 Server Version: 2023.1 or later
Firmware Version: Kernel 4.4.167 Build v1.0.1
Ensure your device firmware meets the minimum requirements before proceeding with installation.
Installing PADS4 HTML5 Viewer
The PADS4 Viewer requires an Android Launcher for installation.
Download the Launcher:
Step 1: Enable Android Native Mode
Step One
Power on the Qbic BXP-321 device.
Step Two
Navigate to Settings → Player Settings.
Step Three
Under Android System, enable Switch to Android Native Mode.
Step 2: Download & Install the PADS4 Launcher
Step One
Open an Android browser (e.g., Lightning Browser).
Step Two
Enter the PADS4 Launcher Download URL:
Step Three
Click Download, then Allow if prompted.
Step Four
Wait about 1 minute for the download to complete.
Step Five
Open Files → Downloads and locate the NDS Android HTML5 Launcher.
Step Six
Click Install and enable Allow Unknown Sources if prompted.
Step Seven
After installation, click Open.
Step 3: Configure PADS4 Viewer
Step One
Enter the PADS4 Server Address when prompted.
Step Two
Click Start and select PADS4 HTML5 Viewer as the Home App.
Step Three
Click Start again.
Step Four
Allow Modify System Settings when prompted.
Step Five
Allow Access to Media Files when prompted.
Once completed, the launcher will download the PADS4 Viewer software and start automatically.
Upgrading PADS4 Viewer via USB Stick
When a new PADS4 Launcher is available, follow these steps to upgrade.
Step One
Open Launcher Settings.
Step Two
Click the Folder Icon at the bottom right.
Step Three
Click Open Link and select a browser.
Step Four
Click Download and wait 1 minute.
Step Five
Go to Files → Downloads, and open the NDS Android HTML5 Launcher.
Step Six
If necessary, enable Install from Unknown Sources.
Step Seven
Click Install, then Open after installation is complete.
Adjusting PADS4 Viewer Settings
To adjust settings on the device:
Step One
Click and hold the left mouse button until the Settings Menu appears.
Step Two
Change options as needed.
Alternatively, you can configure settings remotely using:
- PADS4 CTRL Center
- PADS4 Agent
Opening the Launcher Menu from PADS4 Viewer
To access Android settings from the Viewer:
Step One
Click Launcher Settings in PADS4 Viewer.
Step Two
Click the Gear Icon at the bottom right.
If “Hide Status Bar” is enabled, restart the device to exit Android Settings.
Disabling the Android Navigation Bar
To disable the navigation bar:
Step One
Open Viewer Options → Launcher Settings.
Step Two
Click the Gear Icon at the bottom right.
Step Three
Select System Tools → Disable Navigation Bar.
To exit, restart the device by disconnecting the power.
Performing a Factory Reset
Step One
Open Settings → Backup & Reset.
Step Two
Select Factory Data Reset.
Step Three
(Optional) Select Erase SD Card.
Step Four
Select Reset Tablet → Erase Everything.
