XDS Series
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on the IAdea XDS Series (Android 7.1) devices, including:
- XDS-XX22 (A/H)
- XDS-1078
- XDS-1088 (A/H)
- XDS-1588 (A/H)
1. First-Time Use
Before installation, ensure that the PADS4 Server is set up and configured properly.
1.1 Prerequisites
Before installing PADS4IAdea on the XDS Series, ensure that the following conditions are met:
- Android version: 7.1
- Firmware version: 2.2.3
- The device is connected to a network
1.2 Resetting the Device
If the device was used previously, perform a factory reset to clear storage and prevent software conflicts.
Step One
Open IAdea Basic Settings.
Step Two
Click on Advanced.
Step Three
Select System → Factory Default.
Step Four
Press OK to confirm the factory reset.
After resetting, the Basic Settings screen will appear.
2. Installing PADS4 Viewer
Follow the steps below to install and configure PADS4 Viewer on the IAdea XDS Series.
2.1 Checking Device Firmware
To ensure full PADS4 Viewer compatibility, verify that the device is running firmware version 2.2.3.
Step One
Open IAdea Basic Settings.
Step Two
Click on Advanced.
Step Three
Select Information.
Step Four
The Firmware Version is displayed on the right-hand side of the screen.
2.2 Updating Device Firmware
To update the firmware, follow the instructions provided by IAdea:
- Download firmware updates from: IAdea Support Page.
2.3 Installing PADS4IAdea from USB Stick
The PADS4IAdea.apk file is available on the PADS4 Server at:
Alternatively, download the latest version from here and place it in the PADS4 Server apps directory.
Installation Steps
Step One
Copy the PADS4IAdea.apk onto a USB stick.
Step Two
Insert the USB stick into the IAdea XDS Series device.
Step Three
Open IAdea Basic Settings.
Step Four
Click on Advanced.
Step Five
Click three times in the lower right corner of the Advanced menu to access Android.
Step Six
The Android Home Screen will now be visible.
Step Seven
Open the File Manager app.
Step Eight
Select USB and click on PADS4IAdea.apk.
Step Nine
If prompted about unknown sources, enable the setting in Security Settings and return to the File Manager.
Step Ten
Press Install, then Open when the installation is complete.
2.4 Configuring PADS4IAdea for Automatic Start
Step One
Open the PADS4IAdea app and click on System Setting.
Step Two
Click on Advanced.
Step Three
Select Content → AppStart.
Step Four
Open the Advanced Sub Menu.
Step Five
In Package Name, enter:

Click Set to save the setting.
2.5 Connecting to PADS4 Server
PADS4 Server Address Format:
- Protocol:
http
orhttps
(depends on SSL certificate). - Host: DNS name or IP address of PADS4 Server.
- Port: (Optional - specify only if using non-default ports).
- Host Path: Configured in System Management (default:
PADS4
).
Connection Steps
Step One
Enter the PADS4 Server Location.
Step Two - *Optional*
Specify a Viewer Name (if left blank, PADS4 will generate one).
Step Three
Press Start.
Step Four
Grant permission to access media and files when prompted.
Step Five
The PADS4 Viewer will be downloaded and installed.

4. Troubleshooting
