This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer on ELO I-Series 2 devices.


1. Configuring the ELO I-Series 2

This page explains how to configure the SOC player to run the PADS4 HTML5 Viewer.

1.1 Welcome Screen

When you turn on the device for the first time, it will automatically display the Welcome Screen.

  • Press the OK button twice to proceed.

2. Installing the PADS4 HTML5 Viewer Android Launcher

PADS4 requires an Android Launcher to be installed.

Download the latest PADS4 HTML5 Launcher APK:

Installation Steps

Step One

Copy the PADS HTML5 Launcher APK to a USB stick.

Step Two

Insert the USB stick into the device.

Step Three

On the device, open the Apk Installer app.

Select Install and browse the USB storage for the APK file.

When prompted with “Do you want to install this application?”, press Next until the Install button appears.

Press Install to complete the installation.

After installation, press Open.

The PADS4 HTML5 Launcher app will start. Enter the PADS4 Server location, specifying:

  • Domain name, IP address, or PC name of the PADS4 Server.

Step Nine - *Optional*

If default server settings were changed, open Advanced Settings to enter:

  • The correct port number.
  • The host/root path.

Step Ten

Press Start.

  • The first time the app runs, it will prompt you to select your Home App.
  • Select PADS4 HTML5 Launcher and choose Always.

Upon completion:

  • The launcher will download the PADS4 HTML5 Viewer software and start automatically.
  • A connection indicator icon will appear at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
    • Green: Valid connection.
    • Red: Connection issue (check logs in Viewer Settings).

A valid server connection is required during first-time setup to download the PADS4 HTML5 Viewer software.


3. Upgrading the PADS4 Launcher from a USB Stick

To update the PADS4 Launcher, follow these steps:

Copy the new PADS HTML5 Launcher APK to a USB stick.

Insert the USB stick into the device.

Open PADS4 Viewer Settings.

Select Launcher Settings from the menu.

Click the folder icon in the bottom-right corner.

Navigate to the USB storage folder and select the new APK file.

When prompted with “Do you want to install an update to this existing application?”, press Install.

After installation, the PADS4 HTML5 Launcher will automatically start.


4. Adjusting PADS4 Viewer Options

On-Device Configuration

  • Press and hold the left mouse button until the menu appears.

Remote Configuration

  • Settings can also be changed using PADS4 CTRL Center or PADS4 Agent.

5. Accessing the Android Settings Menu

To open the Android Settings Menu:

Open Viewer Menu.

Click Launcher Settings.

Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner.

If “Hide Status Bar” is enabled, the only way to exit Android Settings is to restart the device by disconnecting power.

6. Disabling the Android Navigation Bar

To prevent access to the Android Navigation Bar:

Open Viewer Options.

Click Launcher Settings.

Click the gear icon in the bottom-right corner.

Select System Tools.

Click Disable Navigation Bar.

After disabling, the only way to exit is to restart the device by disconnecting power.

7. Performing a Factory Reset

To reset the device:

Open Android Settings.

Select Backup & Reset.

Choose Factory Data Reset.

Select Erase SD Card.

Tap Reset Tablet.

Confirm with Erase Everything.
