Booking approvals and requests - PADS4 Platform

Some bookings in PADS4 Workspace are not final when you save them. A person must first approve the booking, or assign a room to it. PADS4 Workspace guides everyone in the process with emails and with the status of the entry in the calendar.

Two processes

	Booking that needs approval	Booking request
When it applies	You select a specific room, and the room needs approval.	You cannot select a room. You describe what you need.
What you do	Book the room as usual.	Submit your criteria, such as date, building, equipment, and services.
Who decides	The approver confirms the booking.	The manager assigns a room, and confirms the booking.
Status in your calendar	Pending	Yellow entry
Email to you at the start	Your booking is awaiting approval.	Your request is awaiting assignment and approval.
Email to you at the end	The booking is approved.	A room is assigned.

Roles

Role	Description	Read
Requester	Books a room or submits a request.	Book a room that needs approval, Submit a booking request
Approver	Approves bookings for rooms that need approval.	Approve a booking
Manager	Reviews booking requests and assigns rooms.	Assign a room to a booking request
