Forced to change the admin password and can’t remember the original
There’s no self-service reset for the local administrator account from the login page. This needs direct server/database access — contact whoever deployed the instance.
Dashboard/Distribution/Synchronization show nothing or fail to load
These call PADS4 live. Check the PADS4 connection in Settings (administrator) — use Test PADS4 connection — and confirm the service account credentials haven’t expired or been locked out in PADS4.
History / CMS 2.0 / Proof of Play show little or no data
These are all populated by background monitors, not live calls. Confirm in Settings that the relevant monitor is configured (PADS4 connection for History/CMS; the Proof of play section for that page) and give it time — a fresh install backfills history gradually rather than all at once. Proof of Play shows an explicit progress banner while this is happening.
The background monitor’s most recent attempt hit an error, but you’re still looking at the last good snapshot, not stale-forever data — it retries automatically on the next interval. If it persists across several intervals, re-check the PADS4 connection in Settings.
Reports preview says “Select at least one device” and won’t proceed
You picked individual devices in the “Fine-tune individual devices” panel and then cleared the selection back to zero, which the app treats as an incomplete scope rather than silently falling back to “all devices.” Either pick devices again, or use Clear device selection to fully exit device-picker mode and return to group/brand scope.
Confirm SMTP is configured and tested in Settings, confirm the schedule is toggled Enabled, and check the recipient addresses on the schedule row. Schedule changes apply immediately, so a freshly created or re-enabled schedule doesn’t need a restart to start working — only the next cadence tick.
CSV opens with garbled characters, or a cell shows a leading apostrophe
The leading apostrophe on some cells is intentional — it’s a safety measure that stops spreadsheet apps from treating PADS4-sourced text (device or content names) as a formula. It has no effect on the underlying data.
