# Performance settings properties

These properties help **optimize video playback performance** when using **Microsoft Windows players**, particularly useful for **low-performance hardware** or **multi-screen setups**.

## **Performance Optimization Settings**

### **Limit Video Element Functionalities**

* **Improves video playback speed** by disabling certain **graphical effects**.
* Recommended when using **multiple screens** or **low-power hardware**.
* **Turning this option on will disable:**

| **Video Effects** | No transition effects can be applied.                                                                                                      |
| **Stretching**    | Aspect ratio is always preserved. If the video does not fit the area, black borders will appear. Use **Uniform** to prevent black borders. |
| **Always on Top** | Video remains **above all other elements**.                                                                                                |
| **Transparency**  | Not supported.                                                                                                                             |
| **Rotation**      | The video **cannot be rotated** freely. It will follow the display rotation only.                                                          |
| **Flip/Skew**     | Flipping and skewing are **not possible**.                                                                                                 |
| **Reflection**    | Reflection effects **cannot be applied**.                                                                                                  |

## **Video Wall & Multi-Screen Optimization**

* When creating a **video wall** or using **multiple screens** on a **single player**, Windows can cause **performance drops** when crossing screen boundaries.
* **Solution:**
  * Create a **large virtual canvas** (e.g., **2× width and 2× height** of a single screen).
  * Divide the display into **separate regions**.
  * **Enable "Limit Video Element Functionalities"** to maintain **GPU acceleration** and prevent frame drops.

## **Best Practices for Multi-Screen Setups**

* If a **single PC drives multiple screens**, setting **"Limit Video Element Functionalities"** significantly **boosts performance**.
* Avoid crossing **display borders** in **Windows multi-monitor setups** when playing videos.
