# ABPC-4200-Series

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for **installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer** on **ProDVX APPC-4200 series** devices running **Android 9**.

## **Before You Start**

### **Supported ProDVX APPC-4200 Series Devices**

The following **ProDVX APPC-4200 series** devices are supported:

* APPC-4200 (Android 9)
* ABPC-4220 (Android 13)

<Warning>
  ***Important: The network settings are disabled by default on these devices.***

  * Before proceeding with installation, **enable Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet** in the **Android settings**.

## **Minimum Requirements**

### **PADS4 Server Version**

Before installation, ensure your **PADS4 Server** is running **PADS4 version 2022.1** or later.

<Note>
  It is recommended to **complete the installation of the PADS4 Server first** before setting up your device.
</Note>

### **PADS4ProDVX Version**

The **minimum PADS4ProDVX version supporting the APPC-4200 Series** is \
PADS4ProDVXv2.apk.

### **Firmware Requirements**

The device must meet the following **firmware requirements**:

**Firmware updates** can be requested from your **ProDVX dealer**.

## **Resetting the Device**

If your device was used before, it is **recommended** to **factory reset** the device to free up storage and remove any software conflicts.

### **Factory Reset Steps**

    Open **Android Settings**.

    Navigate to **System** → **Advanced**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **Reset Options**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Click on **Erase all data (Factory Reset)**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Click **Reset Device**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Click **Erase Everything** to confirm.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  The device will automatically restart after the reset is complete.
</Note>

## **Installing PADS4 Viewer**

Follow the steps below to install and configure **PADS4 Viewer** on your **ProDVX APPC-4200 Series** device.

### **Step 1: Install PADS4ProDVX from USB Stick**

**The PADS4ProDVXv2.apk is available in:**

**PADS4 Server Directory:**

C:\Program Files\PADS4\Clients\Apps
```

**Important:** If you download a newer version, **place it in the apps directory** on the **PADS4 Server** to ensure correct installation.

#### **Installation Steps**

    Copy PADS4ProDVXv2.apk to a **USB stick**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Insert the **USB stick** into the **ProDVX device**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Open the **Apk Installer app** and allow **access to external storage** if prompted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Browse the USB stick and select PADS4ProDVXv2.apk.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    If prompted, **enable installation from unknown sources**, then return and select the apk again.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Press **Install** when prompted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Seven">
    Click \*\*Done \*\*once installation is complete.
  </Step>

### **Step 3: Connecting to PADS4 Server**

**Format:**

<protocol>://<host>:<port>/<hostpath>/
```

**Example:**

http://localhost/pads4
```

#### **Steps to Connect to PADS4 Server**

    Enter the **PADS4 Server Address**.

  <Step title="Step Two">
    (Optional) Enter a **custom Viewer Name**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Press **Start**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    If **Android System WebView** isn’t updated, it will be **downloaded and installed**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    After WebView updates, restart **PADS4ProDVX** and press **Start** again.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    If prompted, configure **PADS4ProDVX as the Home App** and press **Always**.
  </Step>

## **Supported Features & Limitations**

### **General Features**

|    ✅    | **Automatic PADS4 Software Updates** – The **PADS4 Viewer** will update automatically.                     |
|    ✅    | **Offline Mode** – The device will continue playing **scheduled presentations** for **7 days** if offline. |

### **Storage & Hardware Capabilities**

  The output is limited to Full HD to ensure smooth playback. Make sure to configure this setting under Display in the Android menu

## **Troubleshooting**

If you experience issues with **remote control, network connectivity, or WebView updates**, ensure:

✔ **SICP Network Port** is enabled.\
✔ **Firmware is up to date**.\
✔ **Date & Time are set correctly**.
