# APPC 10SLBe Android 11

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for **installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer** on **ProDVX APPC-10SLBe devices running Android 11**.

**Minimum PADS4 Version Required:** **2024.1**

## **1. Before You Start**

### **1.1 Ensure PADS4 Server is Installed**

During installation, you must **specify the PADS4 Server location**. It is **recommended** to **install and configure the PADS4 Server** before setting up the device.

### **1.2 Resetting the Device**

**A factory reset is recommended** to free up storage and **prevent software conflicts**.

#### **Factory Reset Steps**

    Open **Android Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Navigate to **System → Reset Options**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **Erase all data (factory reset)**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Click **ERASE ALL DATA**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Confirm by clicking **ERASE ALL DATA** again.
  </Step>
</Steps>

**Important:** This process **deletes all data**. **Back up important files** before proceeding.

### **1.3 Complete the Device’s Welcome Wizard**

**Steps to Complete the Wizard:**

    Plug in the **PoE cable** to **power on** the device.

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Click **START** on the **"Hi there"** screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Wait for **device initialization** to complete.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Select **"Don't copy"** when asked to **copy apps & data**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Click **Skip** to **bypass Google Sign-in**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Accept **Google Services** by clicking **Accept**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Seven">
    Select **Skip** for **screen lock setup**.
  </Step>

### **1.4 Verify ProDVX API Installation**

**ProDVX API is required** for PADS4 Viewer to function properly.

#### **Check if ProDVX API is Running**

    Look for the **PA icon** in the **Android status bar**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    If missing, **pull down the notification bar** and look for **"ProDVX API (EdLA) is running."**
  </Step>

    If the API is **not installed**, download it from [**here**](https://github.com/PADS4/PADS4-Viewer-ProDVX-r23/releases/download/1.0/ProDVX-API-EDLA-v1.3d.apk) and install it before proceeding.

### **1.5 ProDVX API Token**

**PADS4 uses a default API token** for authentication.

#### **Replace the Default Token (If Needed)**

    Navigate to **C:\Program Files\PADS4\Foundation\Apps** on the **PADS4 Server**.

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Locate the file **prodvx-api-token.txt**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Open the file and **replace the existing token** with your **custom API token**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Save the file.
  </Step>

## **2. Installing PADS4 Viewer**

### **2.1 Download the PADS4 Viewer**

**You can download the PADS4 Viewer from:**

**PADS4 Server:**

https://[yourPADS4Server]/[domain]/apps
```

*******`(Replace [yourPADS4Server] with your server's IP or name, and [domain] with your PADS4 domain – default is PADS4.)`*******

**Important:** If you download a newer version, **also place it in the apps directory** on the **PADS4 Server**.

### **2.2 Install the PADS4 Viewer**

    Copy the **PADS4ProDVXv2.apk** to a **USB stick**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Insert the **USB stick** into the **ProDVX device**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Open the **Files app** on the device.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Locate **PADS4ProDVXv2.apk** on the **USB stick**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Tap on the file to **start installation**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Confirm **installation prompts**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Seven">
    When installation is **complete**, tap **Open**.
  </Step>

### **2.3 Set PADS4 Viewer as the Home App**

**PADS4 must be set as the default Home App to auto-start.**

    Open **Android Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Go to **Apps & Notifications**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **PADS4ProDVXv2**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Open **Advanced settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Set **PADS4ProDVXv2** as the **Home App**.
  </Step>

**PADS4 Viewer will now start automatically when the device turns on.**

## **3. Connecting to PADS4 Server**

**Format:**

<protocol>://<host>:<port>/<domain>/
```

**Example:**

https://mydomain.pads365.com/pads4/
```

#### **Steps to Connect to PADS4 Server**

    Enter the **PADS4 Server Address**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    (Optional) Enter a **custom Viewer Name**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Click **Start**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Grant **access permissions** to **photos, media, and files**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    The **PADS4 Viewer will download** and start automatically.
  </Step>

## **4. Adjusting & Updating PADS4 Viewer**

### **4.1 Adjust Viewer Settings**

**To open the options screen:**

**Hold the left mouse button** or **touch the screen for 3 seconds**.\
Click **Launcher Settings** to return to **PADS4ProDVXv2 app**.

### **4.2 Updating PADS4 Viewer & PADS4ProDVXv2**

**If you update the PADS4 Server**, both **PADS4 Viewer** and **PADS4ProDVXv2** will **automatically update** to the latest version.
