# LG WebOS 6

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for **installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer** on **LG WebOS6** devices.

## **1. First-Time Use**

Before installation, ensure that the **PADS4 Server is set up and configured properly**.

  This guide is specific to **WebOS6**. If the **Configuration Wizard** does not start automatically, reset the device as described in **1.2 Resetting the Device**.

### **1.1 Configuring the Device**

No changes need to be made before installing the **PADS4 Viewer**. Proceed directly to **Installation**.

### **1.2 Resetting the Device**

If the device was used previously, perform a **factory reset** to clear storage and prevent software conflicts.

    Press the **Settings button** *(cog icon on the remote control)*.

    Select **Admin**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **Turn On**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Enter the default **PIN code**: `000000`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Confirm to **start the factory reset**.
  </Step>

After resetting, the **Welcome Screen** will appear. Follow the steps in **1.1 Configuring the Device**.

## **2. Installing PADS4 Viewer**

Follow these steps to install the **PADS4 Viewer** on **LG WebOS6**.

#### **Installation Steps**

    Press the **Power On** button.

    Press the **Settings button** *(cog icon on the remote control)*.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **EZ Settings**.
  </Step>

    Select **SI Server Settings** from the right menu and press **OK**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Set **Fully Qualified Domain Name** to **ON**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Set the **URL** for the **PADS4 Server**:

    * **HTTP:** `http://<server>/pads4/apps/lg.zip`
    * **HTTPS:** `https://<server>/pads4/apps/lg.zip` *(secured connection using HTTPS)*
    * Replace `<server>` with the **IP address or domain name** of the **PADS4 Server**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Seven">
    Set **Application Launch Mode** to **Local**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Eight">
    Set **Installation Type** to **ZIP**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Nine">
    Select **Local Application Upgrade → Remote**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Ten">
    Select **Confirm** to start the upgrade.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Eleven">
    After the download, **power off/on** the device.
  </Step>

After completing these steps, the **PADS4 HTML5 Viewer** will download and start automatically.

* A **connection indicator icon** will appear at the bottom left of the screen:
  * **Green** = Connection successful
  * **Red** = Connection issue

To troubleshoot, check the **Viewer Settings** and **log files** for errors.

### **2.1 Checking Device Firmware**

Ensure the **correct firmware version** is installed for full **PADS4 Viewer** functionality.

    Open the **SI App (ZIP) Dashboard** and check the **firmware version**.

### **2.2 Updating Firmware**

    Copy the **`firmware .epk file`** into the **LG\_MONITOR** folder of a **USB stick**.

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Insert the **USB stick** into the **LG WebOS6 device**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    The **device will detect the USB stick** and start the **firmware update** automatically.

### **2.3 Adjusting PADS4 Viewer Settings**

* **Press and hold the left mouse button** or **touch the screen for 3 seconds** to access **Viewer Settings**.

## **4. Troubleshooting**

| **Problem**                             | **Solution**                                                                                                |

| **Connection issues to PADS4 Server**   | Ensure the **correct URL** is configured under **SI Server Settings**.                                      |
| **Firmware version incorrect**          | Check and **update firmware** to **03.08.80** following **2.2 Updating Firmware**.                          |
| **Remote control commands not working** | Ensure **block remote control** is disabled in **Device Settings**.                                         |
| **Screen does not turn off**            | **Turn Off Display** is **not supported** on WebOS6.                                                        |
| **Streaming issues**                    | Verify the **stream encoder format** (MP4, MPEGTS, MP2T). Use `rtp://239.0.0.1/?encoding=mpegts` if needed. |
