# XDS 1078

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for **installing and configuring PADS4 Viewer** on the **IAdea XDS-1078 (Android 12)** device.

## **1. First-Time Use**

Before installation, ensure that the **PADS4 Server is set up and configured properly**.

  The minimum **PADS4 Server version** required is **2023.1**.
</Note>

### **1.1 Resetting the Device**

If the device was previously used, perform a **factory reset** to clear storage and prevent software conflicts.

    Click on **Advanced**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **System**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">

    Click **OK** to confirm.
  </Step>

<Warning>
  **Factory resetting will erase all data**. Please back up any important information before proceeding.

### **1.2 Checking Device Firmware**

Ensure that the **firmware is updated** to at least **4.0.3 or higher** before installing PADS4.

### **1.3 Updating Firmware**

If your firmware version is outdated, follow these steps to update:

    Click on **Advanced**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Select **System**.
  </Step>

    Click **Check Latest Firmware from Internet**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    If an update is available, select **Update from Internet**.
  </Step>

  **Firmware updates may take some time to complete.**
</Note>

### **1.4 Setting Date & Time Configuration**

Incorrect date/time settings may cause **certificate errors and connection issues**.

    Open **IAdea Basic Settings**.

    Click on **Time Zone**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Adjust the **Date & Time** settings if necessary.

    Click the **Back button** to save changes.

## **2. Installing PADS4 Viewer**

Follow the steps below to install and configure **PADS4 Viewer on the IAdea XDS-1078 (Android 12)**.

### **2.1 Downloading PADS4 Viewer**

The **PADS4IAdea.apk** file can be downloaded from:

* **PADS4 Server**:

  ```
  https://[yourPADS4Server]/[domain]/apps  
  ```

  *`(Replace [yourPADS4Server] with your server’s IP or domain name. The default domain is PADS4.)`*
* **Github**: Download the latest version from [**here**](https://github.com/PADS4/PADS4-Viewer-IAdea/releases/latest).

<Warning>
  If you download the latest version, ensure that you also place it in the **PADS4 Server apps directory**, as the device will install the version available on the server.
</Warning>

### **2.2 Installing PADS4 Viewer**

#### **Accessing the Android Home Screen**

    Open **IAdea Basic Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Click on **Advanced**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Tap **three times** on the **lower right corner** of the screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    The **Android Home Screen** will now be accessible.
  </Step>

#### **Installation Steps**

    Copy the **PADS4IAdea.apk** onto a **USB stick**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Insert the **USB stick** into the **IAdea XDS-1078** device.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Open the **Files app** on the device.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Click on **USB Disk**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    Select **PADS4IAdea.apk** and click **Continue** in the dialog that appears.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Click **Install** when prompted.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Seven">
    Wait for installation to complete and click **Done**.

### **2.3 Setting PADS4 Viewer to Start Automatically**

    Open **IAdea Basic Settings**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Two">
    Click on **Advanced** → **Content**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Three">
    Click on **AppStart**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Four">
    Click on **(+) Advanced**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Five">
    In **Package Name**, enter:

    ```
    com.pads4.viewer.iadea  
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Six">
    Click **Set** to save the setting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Step Seven">
    Restart the device or click **Play** to start **PADS4 Viewer**.
  </Step>
